Finalists in Madrid!
As soon as the results came out on Tuesday, in Madrid, we were informed that our proposal in joint venture with Oficina dos Jardins for the Valdebebas Park Competition was selected, among 163 others. This 800.000 square meters urban park is part of the north-eastern extension of the Spanish capital, that also includes Real Madrid’s training facilities, the IFEMA (international fair), a new terminal for Barajas Airport and Campus de Justicia, with projects by Norman Foster, Richard Rogers, FOA, and Zaha Hadid.
e-studio’s strategy pursued five distinct directions: a network of connections with the city, a close relationship with the neighbourhoods, a design sustainability strategy, a time transforming landscape and the creation of particular conditions in the vast, 80 hectares area.
The Zürich based office Hager and a join venture between Lisbon’s PROAP and the Barcelona’s Bet Figueras were also shortlisted to presaent proposal in the second stage.
